Pretty Blues

What an effort!

I had no idea that taking a Christmas card picture would be this difficult! About half an hour, 10 poses, 2 outfits, 1 broken ornament, and a phone call for reinforcement later... I decided taking the picture in the mirror was a good idea. After all, Lennox was smiling and looking cute. I didn't realize that the "My First Christmas" hat actually reads "samtsirhC tsriF yM" Ha! (with the letters turned of course) So... if you get a Christmas card like that, don't judge me!

Christmas Fav's

I'm really bored today so I made a list of my favorite Christmas songs... no particular order:

  • Erin Neville's "Please Come Home for Christmas"
  • Amy Grant's "Breath of Heaven"
  • "O Holy Night" by anyone that wants to sing it
  • Trans-Siberian Orchestra's "Carol of the Bells"
  • Wham's "Last Christmas"
  • "What Child is This?"

Yes, that's right... I did just call out Wham on my blog!

I did complete my first successful Christmas gift giving of the season. I love to give people gifts and I get very excited when I think they are really going to love them. I got creative with Amy's gift from Lennox. I couldn't wait to give it to her so I dropped it off yesterday. Amy did love it... I even got a tear! I love to see someone shed a happy tear! Too bad that was my most thoughtful gift so far... I gotta get busy.

Christmas Pictures

We attempted to get pictures of all the kids over Thanksgiving. Lesson Learned: one year old + photographer = disaster!!! Since Lennox is immobile, he had no choice but to smile.

Thankful for...

FAMILY!

I did a brutal job of taking pictures over Thanksgiving. I think I need to raid my mom's and my sister's camera. I am so thankful to have such great family to spend the holidays with... I'm also thankful for low gas prices so everyone was able to travel more easily!

I should get some credit too though... I think this looks like Lennox too. (No that's not a boy on the left, it's me.)

Who's your Daddy?

Think he might look like his dad or what?

Yum, Yum, Give Me Some... of that good rice cereal

I don't think we will have a problem feeding this big man!

Perfectly Proportioned

Yes people, my child is "perfectly proportioned". That's what the doctor said, so it must be true!

His 4 month stats:
weight - 17lbs 8oz (90th percentile)
length - 26.5 inches (90th percentile)
head - ? (90th percentile)

His ear is all better but getting his 2nd round of shots was no picnic. He woke up about 3am with fever. I don't know how much but I think it was alot! My thermometer said that his fever was 99.7 degrees. Then I took my own temperature and apparently it was 95 degrees?! I think not. (Note to self: don't buy the bunk Walgreens thermometer because it was cheap... spring for the $7 thermometer next time) I kind of freaked out because that means his was probably more like 103. I gave him a fat dose of Tylenol and stripped him down. I put cold cloths on his head and rocked him until about 6. I know a low grade fever is normal with shots but I'm thinking his was higher than it should have been... hopefully he's back to normal today.

Blog Makeover

My friend Kristy redesigned my blog and I think it looks GREAT! Check her out at http://www.designsbykristy.blogspot.com/

The only problem is that picture of me on the right. I look like I just got home from the hospital. I am excused though because I did, in fact, just get home from the hospital. I'm not sure what is up with that raised eyebrow & poof on the back of my head either... kinda scary! Maybe I will take a decent picture soon and we'll replace it?

Sick Baby

Lennox has his first ear infection. I feel like a pretty terrible mom because he's been grabbing his ear since Monday or maybe Sunday. Anyway, I thought maybe he had just found his ear or maybe his teeth were bothering him and making his ear hurt. I was wrong. Hopefully the medicine will kick in and he'll feel better soon. He finally got some sleep last night (as did I) so he should feel a little better because of that.

He did get weighed at the doctor and he's a whopping 17lbs... at least that was the final number I got from Jay. I didn't make it to the weigh-in but Jay told me 18lbs, then he said 17lb 8 oz, then he said 17lb 1 oz.... so, I'm not 100% sure what the baby weighs but I know it's alot. He's not even 4 months old yet!

What to get?!

Anyone have any great ideas for Christmas presents for a 4 month old? Lennox has all the little baby gear but he needs some toys to play with when he can sit up. What does your kid really, really love? The only thing I've been told is a Tickle Me Elmo. I went on Amazon and there are 85 different Elmos. (ok, maybe not 85 but alot) I don't know the difference in them... anyone have a suggestion?

There's a First Time for Everything

Lennox is growing so fast and learning to do new things everyday. On Monday, he intentionally rolled over from his belly to his back... yesterday you couldn't keep him on his belly!

Tuesday morning Lennox finally laughed out loud. He has been cooing, gasping, squeaking, and squawking when he's supposed to be laughing. I was beginning to think that was just the way he laughed... BUT, on Tuesday, I was tickling him and he finally figured out that it's supposed to be funny instead of just taking his breath away! He chuckled and it was so cute! He eventually cried because I kept tickling him trying to get him to laugh more.

Sunday we had the resemblance of his first fit. He is generally a happy baby but when he gets mad, it gets ugly! Anyway, we picked him up from the nursery and he was happy. I put him in his carseat and he threw his head back, arched his back, and cried so loud...like I was killing him. I quickly picked him up because I thought something was wrong. Nope, he was fine. So, I tried again to put him in the carseat. Same thing. Head back, arched back, crying in my face! I thought, uh oh... we're in trouble now. I can't wait to see these fits when he is a toddler!

Family Photos

My dad and I took a road trip a few weeks ago to see some of our extended family. My great aunt, great uncle, and two cousins were in MS (from FL) at my other great aunt's house. I love these people so much and have so many great memories of them. Since my Mama Ninnie and my Meme both passed away, we just don't get the opportunity to see everyone as often as we would like.

Welcome to the World Jenson!

Our niece, Briana, and her husband ,Josh, had their baby boy Jenson yesterday. He was 7 lbs, 8 oz and 18.5 inches long. Briana is a super woman... she didn't have an epidural!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jenson is so cute & tiny.

My sister-in-law Debbie is a new grandmama!!!

Not just any ole babysitter

When I left for maternity leave, I had no clue who would be keeping Lennox when I returned to work. I got super lucky because my bff Amy agreed to keep him. Amy and I have been friends since first grade and she has always loved babies. She used to keep kids at her house but since her youngest baby is now in kindergarten, she was really looking forward to having some time to herself. Much to my dismay, she really didn't want to keep any more kids. I cannot imagine what swayed her (maybe the threats to drop him off on her front porch and blow the horn OR pretending I was going to call the "weirdo lady" to keep him) but she finally decided to be Lennox's official baby sitter! I feel very lucky because I know that Amy will love him and take such great care of him. I love that I can call her anytime of the day and see what he's doing. It means so much to me that the little someone I love is being taken care of by someone I've loved for years! Thanks Amy...

Something isn't quite right here...

So Sunday I was running late for a baby shower and, after the sailor suit incident, I asked Jay to put Lennox's next set of clothes on him. I was running around throwing things in the car then I went to put Lennox in his seat and this is what I saw...

"Ta-Daaa"

I'm pretty sure the scalloped collar goes in the front!

"Hey Tyson... what up!?"

Ok... Mary Margaret really is 5 weeks older than Lennox. If he rolled over, he could crush her tiny bones!
