They call me Snag

What do you do when you are informed that your son has "chipped" a tooth? Well, I will tell you... after your stomach turns over, you ask "is it bad?" If you hear the answer "yes," you immediately start crying. When you walk over to see how bad it is and your fears are confirmed, that yes, it is very bad... you may lose it on the person in charge. If that person is your husband, you may REALLY lose it! I know all about this because it happened to me on Saturday.

See for yourself

I am thankful that he didn't poke his eye out or break an arm since that would hurt him alot more. But, I am devastated that he has to go around with giblet snaggle teeth for the next 4-5 years of his life! I guess the alternative would be something like this:

Or this

I still want to cry just thinking about it... he had really cute teeth before. I do feel bad because I cried so hard on Saturday that I made Lennox cry for about 20 minutes. I couldn't help myself. I think maybe he would still have whole teeth if I hadn't been at work.

Baby G Update

How Far Along: 20 weeks

Weight Gained/Loss: I don't know for sure but I am guessing +6 lbs

Best Moment of the Week: I was pretty excited when my mom brought over 2 of the sweetest pink gowns and the next day she brought a bonnet to match! who doesn't love a bonnet? Also, Lennox talked to me on the phone yesterday all about his "Bat toe" and his "dunk truck." It was sweet to hear him carrying on a phone conversation even if I wasn't quite sure what he was telling me.

Food Craving: biscuits (I think I have mentioned that) and spicey food. Last week I couldn't get quite enough Tabasco in my dip so I just dipped my cracker in the Tabasco instead.

Aversions: none that are new due to pregnancy

Morning sickness: just work sickness... or sick of work

Gender: sweet little girl

Labor Signs: I certainly hope not! I am having trouble with my tail bone though. I think that pain had gone away at this point with Lennox.

Belly Button: it is flattening out for sure

What I miss: well, I think I miss working out (not that I did it much before or couldn't now)

What I'm looking forward to: spending time with just Lennox before the baby arrives

Milestones: i have to take my glucose tolerance test next week, feeling the baby move more

Random Things

  • Is it just wrong for a baby to have 10 pair of new shoes just one week after you found out she was a girl?
  • Why don't people pull over for funerals anymore? I pulled over on the shoulder for a funeral procession last week. I almost got taken out by all of the cars speeding past me. What happened to respecting the family of the deceased?
  • Why is it that when you are pregnant, you make all these great plans to work out like a maniac after you have the baby. Then, after you have the baby, all motivation for working out just flies out of the window... and all you really want to eat is biscuits.
  • When I get home from work, Lennox barely looks up to see that I am home. When Jay gets home from work, he runs to the door screaming "Daddy Home! Daddy Home!" When my mom comes to visit, Lennox starts bouncing around and can barely contain his excitement. That really hurts my feelings! Last night I went to pick him up from my mom and he ran screaming in the other direction saying "Meme... Meme" meaning, "Save Me, Save ME!" Does anyone else go through this? I really am a nice mama.
  • Why would anyone who lives in a neighborhood own a rooster? Especially when it is specifically restricted in the neighborhood covenants. Don't they hear it crowing at 5:00 am every morning (or is it just us)?????????????
  • Lennox is still trying to "pee in the grass" and he still thinks he can pull/squeeze pee out with his hand. I'm afraid for his safety!
  • I've had a stressful 2 weeks. I started 2 classes (which are online but require so much dang work), I went back to work full time (which was extremely painful), I traveled with a one year old to and from Texas and am traveling to NC today with him again, I gave my 4 year old dog away and then found out he has heart worms which his new owner is treating for the bargain price of $1300 (which makes me feel even worse so we are going to try and help out... even though I would choose a less expensive treatment plan), I haven't slept much (because of school/work/travel and the stupid rooster, oh and I am still incubating this other kid! Boo Hoo...
  • So, since I am back to full time work, Jay has had Lennox most of this week. Results of daddy babysitting: Lennox has about 57 mosquito bites and a huge scrape down his arm and on the inside of his leg from a cinder block (maybe he was trying to ride it?), the couch has a new design on 2 of the cushions from a black ink pen, yesterday Lennox wore a 12 month pJ top and some plaid shorts to town with some type of crumb/gunk in his hair, leftovers strewn across the counter tell me they had party pizza for lunch one day and a box of mac & cheese the next... meanwhile the fresh zucchini, mustard greens, butter beans, and blueberries in the fridge have gone bad! ha. Men are so much different than women!
