Sick Baby

Lennox has his first ear infection. I feel like a pretty terrible mom because he's been grabbing his ear since Monday or maybe Sunday. Anyway, I thought maybe he had just found his ear or maybe his teeth were bothering him and making his ear hurt. I was wrong. Hopefully the medicine will kick in and he'll feel better soon. He finally got some sleep last night (as did I) so he should feel a little better because of that.

He did get weighed at the doctor and he's a whopping 17lbs... at least that was the final number I got from Jay. I didn't make it to the weigh-in but Jay told me 18lbs, then he said 17lb 8 oz, then he said 17lb 1 oz.... so, I'm not 100% sure what the baby weighs but I know it's alot. He's not even 4 months old yet!

What to get?!

Anyone have any great ideas for Christmas presents for a 4 month old? Lennox has all the little baby gear but he needs some toys to play with when he can sit up. What does your kid really, really love? The only thing I've been told is a Tickle Me Elmo. I went on Amazon and there are 85 different Elmos. (ok, maybe not 85 but alot) I don't know the difference in them... anyone have a suggestion?

There's a First Time for Everything

Lennox is growing so fast and learning to do new things everyday. On Monday, he intentionally rolled over from his belly to his back... yesterday you couldn't keep him on his belly!

Tuesday morning Lennox finally laughed out loud. He has been cooing, gasping, squeaking, and squawking when he's supposed to be laughing. I was beginning to think that was just the way he laughed... BUT, on Tuesday, I was tickling him and he finally figured out that it's supposed to be funny instead of just taking his breath away! He chuckled and it was so cute! He eventually cried because I kept tickling him trying to get him to laugh more.

Sunday we had the resemblance of his first fit. He is generally a happy baby but when he gets mad, it gets ugly! Anyway, we picked him up from the nursery and he was happy. I put him in his carseat and he threw his head back, arched his back, and cried so loud...like I was killing him. I quickly picked him up because I thought something was wrong. Nope, he was fine. So, I tried again to put him in the carseat. Same thing. Head back, arched back, crying in my face! I thought, uh oh... we're in trouble now. I can't wait to see these fits when he is a toddler!

Family Photos

My dad and I took a road trip a few weeks ago to see some of our extended family. My great aunt, great uncle, and two cousins were in MS (from FL) at my other great aunt's house. I love these people so much and have so many great memories of them. Since my Mama Ninnie and my Meme both passed away, we just don't get the opportunity to see everyone as often as we would like.

Welcome to the World Jenson!

Our niece, Briana, and her husband ,Josh, had their baby boy Jenson yesterday. He was 7 lbs, 8 oz and 18.5 inches long. Briana is a super woman... she didn't have an epidural!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jenson is so cute & tiny.

Not just any ole babysitter

When I left for maternity leave, I had no clue who would be keeping Lennox when I returned to work. I got super lucky because my bff Amy agreed to keep him. Amy and I have been friends since first grade and she has always loved babies. She used to keep kids at her house but since her youngest baby is now in kindergarten, she was really looking forward to having some time to herself. Much to my dismay, she really didn't want to keep any more kids. I cannot imagine what swayed her (maybe the threats to drop him off on her front porch and blow the horn OR pretending I was going to call the "weirdo lady" to keep him) but she finally decided to be Lennox's official baby sitter! I feel very lucky because I know that Amy will love him and take such great care of him. I love that I can call her anytime of the day and see what he's doing. It means so much to me that the little someone I love is being taken care of by someone I've loved for years! Thanks Amy...

Something isn't quite right here...

So Sunday I was running late for a baby shower and, after the sailor suit incident, I asked Jay to put Lennox's next set of clothes on him. I was running around throwing things in the car then I went to put Lennox in his seat and this is what I saw...

"Ta-Daaa"

I'm pretty sure the scalloped collar goes in the front!
