For the Mothers (I mean the birds)

So I always said that I would be honest on this blog and only say how I truly feel... if I said anything at all. So, since everyone has posted about their wonderful Mother's Day, I will post about mine. Mine was not wonderful. It was honestly one of the worst days I've had in a long time. It was stressful, hectic, & exhausting. This was my first Mother's Day so maybe I was expecting too much? I will admit that it was my fault for the most part. I was sick and I wasn't prepared so that led to alot of stress and rushing around. If there is one thing I hate it is being in a rush. I think there should be a Mother's Week instead of a Mother's Day. In order for Mother's Day to be relaxing and fun, I have to bust my butt all week to get ready so that I can relax?! That doesn't seem right! Anyway, here were the low lights of the day:
  • About 6 hours of sleep (which was actually alot more than I usually get)
  • Walmart at 7 am
  • Dead battery in the car
  • Nothing to wear to Lennox's baby dedication
  • Starvation
  • Lennox missed about 3 hours of nap time so he was so happy
  • endless guilt trips

Just so I don't end on a ugly note and everyone doesn't think I am a total grouch... here were the highlights:

  • I am very thankful to have a wonderful mom on Mother's Day and every day
  • I am so thankful that I am a mom on Mother's Day and every day
  • I am thankful that Lennox has many, many great Mother-types to take care of him
  • Lennox was dedicated at church, so that was meaningful

It's pretty horrible that I'm posting this but it is what it is. ha.

Best Buds

Well, Lennox thinks they are best buds but Jenson just wonders why he's always getting slobbered on, clawed on, crawled on, and poked at when Lennox is around! He will be able to defend himself soon...

How many times is too many?

Lennox has started pulling up on everything but all signs point to him having his mother's coordination. Where he wants to go and where his feet want to go are not the same direction so he falls and smacks his face & head all day long. He hasn't bled yet, I guess that's a good sign, and he doesn't have any teeth yet, so they are not in danger of getting knocked out. I know he has to figure this all out on his own but I cannot stand for him to get hurt one, two, three, ... ten times EVERYDAY! Surely this gets better quickly!?

New pictures...

but they aren't on the blog. Sorry.

I had Lennox's pictures made a week or two ago. My friend DeAnna did a great job, as always! If you want to check them out her website is http://www.msmemoriesphotography.com/. I can't just post the link straight to the pictures... you have to go to Client Viewing, Click Weddings (i think that was accidental), Click Lennox, then go to the drop down menu and click portraits.

The overalls Lennox is wearing were my dad's when he was a baby and the rocking chair that was my mom's. We (me, my siblings, and 1st cousins) all had our pictures made in these overalls as babies. I think everyone in the next generation has also worn them... It is kind of a random tradition but I think it's still a tradition.

**Disclaimer: No goldfish were harmed in the production of these pictures, even if it appears that the gold fish has seen better days. Goldie was returned to the bowl and lived a good long week before going belly up of natural causes.
