- At 13 months, he's finally walking. He's been toddling around for about 2 weeks but he still prefers to crawl. It's pretty cute how he holds his hands out in front of him and starts walking really fast so that he gets to his destination before he hits the floor.
- Mama is his new favorite word. It's funny because he loved to say dada for the longest time. Now he refers to Jay as "ma-ma" too. He says it like a teenager would when they yell for their mom to find their favorite jeans or something "Ma-Maaa"
- He points the tv remote at the tv hoping to change the channel. He holds the phone to his ear and says "lello?!" He says "'Mo" and looks at the TV if you ask "did you see Elmo?"
- He starts barking every time he sees a dog on TV. Yesterday I asked him if he wanted yogurt and he barked! ha. It does makes sense though because our dog's name is Yogi. I guess he was a little confused!
- He has been sick this week with a fever. It's not the flu... I took him to the doctor right away. It's just fever and runny nose and a very needy baby!!
- He thinks he is ready for big boy toys. instead of baby stuff he likes to play with blocks, cars, cars, trucks, cars, and, as always, balls.
- He has started to lay down in his bed by himself again for naps and bedtime. He cries a little but he gets over it quickly. That is definitley bittersweet for me. I love, love, love to rock him to sleep with his head on my shoulder & his hands in my hair. However, it's not so much fun if anything in our schedule changes and their are new faces/toys/environments or just him deciding that he's not ready for bed.
- He loves to put on shoes. Loves it. He sits in the floor and tries to put on my shoes or his own. Then he brings me shoes to put on him. When I take them off, he cries most of the time. Weird but I love to wear shoes too. No, not just cute shoes. I just wear my shoes until I take a shower for bed. I don't take my shoes off until then. I have often been found napping in shoes. I know... let's don't discuss it.
- He still hates getting his diaper changes, hates getting dressed, hates being strapped into the carseat. He loves bathtime, animals, little kids, hangers, putting clothes on his head... he throws socks up and they land on his head and he crawls around like that until they fall off and he does it again? I know, weird. He loves getting in and out of his rocking chair, his car, playing with toilet paper.
- This week he pooped on the floor and in the tub! Gross I know... that's a 13 month old for ya! Oh, he also got put in the corner for hitting me in the face. I had to do it. He sat there and he was so mad. He was throwing his hands and fussing at me. He didn't move though. I was serious for all of that 30 seconds but I had to turn my back to keep from laughing. What a big attitude in a tiny little body!
