We went in to be induced on Sunday night, October 24. I was 2-3 cm at the time. I didn't sleep at all at that night because of obvious reasons. The next morning the nurse came in and I was still 2-3 cm. She said the Cervadil didn't work... queue the water works! The cervadil didn't work when I had Lennox and I ended up having him about 44 hours after the whole induction process started. Emotionally, I was not ready to do that again. Fortunately, I was very wrong about how long it would take Stella to get here. My doctor broke my water about 8:30. At noon I asked for an epidural at 7 cm. I am not sure why I wanted to wait for the epidural but I almost waited too long this time. My epidural finally started working a little after 1 pm and Stella arrived at 1:38 pm. She had lots of hair and was so much smaller than I expected. She was the same length as Lennox but a pound and a half lighter! She has my nose I think and juicy lips that I love to kiss... we think she is just beautiful and we feel so blessed to have another healthy child.
When I compare Lennox's birth with Stella's birth, I cannot believe how much easier her's was for me. I had great nurses both times, an awesome doctor, the same hospital, but this time around was 100 times better. I will spare the details on the blog but I will just say that I had no idea how people could return to normal so quickly after having a baby... until now. I even went to Walmart by myself after a week and didn't even pass out! ha. With Lennox I couldn't fix a glass of water without breaking out in a cold sweat and having to sit down.
