A Stack of Dimes
This isn't about my kids... it's about my sister's kids. I don't know if anyone will be as amused as I am, but I had to write this down. I almost peed on myself laughing. If you know my sister, you may have noticed her extremely skinny (like I could most likely reach around it with one hand) and slightly (by slightly I mean extra) long neck! We won't call it giraffe like but it's not short. My sister's husband, ironically, also has a long neck. His is more like an ostrich than a giraffe. One of his hockey coaches once described him as a head on a stack of dimes! ha. Anyway, we often laugh about their necks and see how far they can stretch them out... you know, just for amusement (or the Guiness Book of Records). My nephew, Everett, is 3 years old. He pretty much just minds his own business but every now and then makes a profound statement. While riding in the car with my sister, his mom, he was giving her a really weird look... like he was almost disgusted. He asked, "Why you neck so long?" My sister was taken aback (maybe because of his awesome observation skills) and replied, "I guess because God made it that way." Everett thought about it for a minute, felt his own neck, gazed out of the window, and said, "Me GLAD God gave me a tiny neck!" ha ha ha. In other words, Mom... you are deformed! ha.
